Icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson is set to snub interest from Liverpool and Swansea and sign for Tottenham Hotspur.
Sigurdsson, who spent the second half of last season at Swansea was set to team up with former manager Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool, but Tottenham seem to have won the race for the midfielder’s signature.
The goalscoring midfielder scored 7 times in 19 appearances for the Swans last season and chairman Huw Jenkins was keen to sign him for a second occasion.
Spurs have offered Hoffenheim £8million for the highly-rated midfielder, according to German newspaper Bild.
Hoffenheim gave the 22-year-old a deadline of this Saturday to secure a permanent move to an English outfit, after allowing him an extended leave after they returned to pre-season training last week.
Swansea had recently agreed a £6.8million record fee with the German club, but Brendan Rodgers joined Liverpool before the Icelandic could complete his medical.
